Stretch, jump, bend, bounce, play and laugh with your babies and tots whilst enjoying the benefits of yoga and meeting new friends
What is Baby Yoga?

Baby Yoga is not a series of static poses carried out in a quiet room! Classes offer a mix of active and social exercises, including massage, stretching and balancing for babies, always accompanied by well known songs and rhymes to make the exercises fun and interactive. Parents too are encouraged to stretch, with a focus on releasing and relaxing those areas of the body that are vulnerable to strain and stress when looking after babies. At the end of each session, both parents and infants are given the opportunity to wind down and relax; essential for re energising the body and enjoying simply ‘being’ with baby. Classes are always baby-led; ensuring that the needs of the babies come first; feeding, changing and even sleeping in the class is fine!

Baby yoga has many benefits, some of which include;

• Improving the digestion and providing relief for colicky babies
• Helping to settle and improve sleep patterns
• Multi-sensory stimulation
• Enhancing the bond between parent and infant
• Giving parents special ‘quality’ time with babies and tots
• Providing a supportive environment for parents to meet others in a similar situation
• It is great fun for both babies and parents!

Each class includes time for chatting to new friends and for babies to play. Refreshments are also available.

In order to cater for the needs of babies at different stages of development, Tiddlywinks Yoga offers Tinies Baby Yoga for babies from birth to 5 months; this is a gentle class for smaller babies which includes massage, stretches, simple balances, safe methods for carrying and holding a small baby, and essential relaxation time. Tiddlers Baby Yoga, for babies from 5 months to mobility, is a livelier, more energetic class specifically designed for older babies, including massage, stretches, active balances, games and relaxation.
